Malvern Hills Bakery
Overview
In 2019 Malvern Hills Bakery, a small bakery located in Asheville, NC, went under new ownership. As part of that transition, I was hired to create a new logo for the business.
The goals were to create a design that could fit in a circular format and to have some reference to the mountains in the area.

Logo Design Process
Below are some of the first sketch attempts for the logo. Due to many places in the area also having mountains in their branding design, I wanted to try to explore ways to have a non traditional mountain visual in the logo.

The goal for the website design was to serve as a space that felt new and exciting to reflect the change in management, and we really wanted show off the food and let it speak for itself.
Colors were inspired by the cozy, hole-in-the-wall nature of the store. It’s rustic charm made it different from bakeries that leaned more feminine or modern in the area. The shade of blue is actually a specific reference to the a large blue wall in the store.
